Maurice Brassard 8/4 Cotton
A classic choice for sturdy, durable handwovens, Maurice Brassard’s 8/4 unmercerized cotton yarn offers the same beautiful quality as the 8/2, but with a thicker, more substantial weight.
8/4 is made by twisting together two 8/2 strands of unmercerized cotton yarn, giving it additional strength and body while maintaining a soft, matte finish. This makes it ideal for projects that need durability and structure, such as placemats, rugs and table runners. It can also be used for Baby Blankets and Tea Towels.
This versatile unmercerized cotton yarn works beautifully as warp or weft and performs well on floor looms, rigid heddle looms, and frame looms. It’s also great for macramé, knitting machines, and other fiber crafts that benefit from cotton’s natural feel and easy care.
Recommended Setts: Plain Weave: 10–14 EPI | Twill: 12–16 EPI
Yarn Weight: Sport
Each ½ lb cone contains approximately 840 yards of 100% unmercerized cotton, carefully spun in Canada.
